Have any of you ever had any experience with the Wacom 12" Cintiq?

I've been saving up for months to get one. And now that I finally have the money, I'm starting to reconsider. It's about $1000 USD. It's got a 12.1" screen - the actual dimensions are 10.3" x 6.4". I'm nervous that this won't be enough "real estate" to get the job done. That being said I would use this in conjunction with another monitor, and the thing apparently has the ability to control the second monitor at the touch of a button. So going back and forth would be a piece of cake. It's also not quite as portible as one would hope. I believe it runs one cable from the cintiq to a converter/router box, which in turn requires USB and DVI input/output as well as the power cord.

I think it would work well for my situation, especially since I don't want to have to wait another 5 or 6 months to save up for the 21" Cintiq.

Any thoughts?

You don't know me, but I saw your journal and I have the small cintiq as well. In fact, I am using it right now, lol.

Its awesome, and just as great as the big ones. I got this one cause it was more affordable, an its still amazing. I'm a freelance animator/concept artist and I can get the job done. Plus since its really portable I take it when I go on trips with my laptop, and do work wherever I go.

Has easy flow with monitors, and in fact, I have it hooked up to two puters at once. I know, I'm crazy.

Hope this helps you decision!
