The fool by kidoho The fool by kidoho
Tarot card assignment for class. This is the illustration at least. Now I need to go into illustrator and finish off the design.

Question. Does anybody think this could use some color, or would, perhaps color kill it?

What the *hell* was John going on about in class, with regards to this picture?

I think the best way to color it would require doing knockouts of most of the black areas (i.e. converting them to color in Photoshop), leaving a minimum of black (just the main outlines of the figure, staff, and ground). Speaking expertly as your former colorist, of course :)

A former colorist that I would highly recommend....

John thinks everything sucks! I'm surprised you haven't figured that out yet.

I like the idea of flat muted color. With maybe a hint of shading and texture here and there.

Great work!

This looks like something that can go inside a D and D book. I like it.

I think if the color were dark and washed out enough, but still with like a hint of color, and didnt overpower it... it could work. I'd make a copy and test it.

The line differnces from the forground are awsome O_O.

Though tarot purists might get mad that some of the stuff isn't int he pic, it's still sweet none the less. The proportions of tarot cards are always very cool. And your penwork in this just kicks, kid!

woah. this....is....cool

colour would kill it....though a red or other colour background would set it off nicely...nothing too bright....but dont colour in the figure...that would kill it

man this rocks
