Price of Liberty

This is an eagle made of of styrofoam and (let me make this one obvious) FAKE dollar bills. This was my response to the Iraqi war, of which I have mixed emmotions.

The piece is meant to pose the question, "What is the price of liberty?" If you look at the darker (greener) feathers covering the body, you will notice that it is the corner of the dollar bill featuring the "1." This is symbollic of the the economic strain that the fight for democracy places on individuals. You will also note that these same feathers comprise the body. The head and tail feathers are from the center of the dollar. And finally the points of contact of the eagle (the beak and the feet) are made from FAKE twenty dollar bills. On an eagle, these are the tools the raptor uses for catching and tearing. This would represent the gov't.
