This is great! I had an idea for a video game a long time ago based almost along the same lines as this. A little boy who has a little flying robot side-kick going around collecting treasure, who wouldn't love to play that game?! I had the whole story laid out about pirates chasing him down for a big pile of booty he "accidently" takes from them. I don't know, the more things have came out over the past years like Treasure Planet and Pirates of the Caribbean from Disney I just lost the interest and spark that started it all. Who knows? I may go and find my old sketches of some of the characters and post them in my gallery.
Post 'em fer sure. Yeah, this isn't my character. It's an assignment where the teacher created the character and a basic bio behind him. Then we set out to interpret the character and create an advertising campaign around him. But, I think we've all fantisized about space piracy at one point in our lives. It's just sooo appealing.
I thought this was for an actual animation project or something. I was going to try and see if I could submit some pieces to your project! HA! Hey, do you guys ever have guest artists come in or something to talk about real-world experiences and how to break into an industry? I'd love to come down there and give a talk if there's room in the budget to fly me down for the day or something like that for next year. I'm sure your year is almost over isn't it? I would love to talk about how to break into industries you don't even know exist yet. Have you ever thought about your artwork being sold as a license, or maybe submiting your artwork to a ceramic plate company and actually having it bought and produced? I would love to go over things like that! Sorry, I'm rambling but it's a great idea!
They do. All the time. The only thing is, I wouldn't know who you'd need to talk to. Maybe check out the school's website. There's a lot of useful (and non-useful) information there.
